The Georgian Bay Club is proud to again be the host of the 2010 Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic, the week of Monday July 5 to Sunday July 11, 2010. This Nationwide Tour event promises to be one of the highlights of the 2010 Nationwide Tour schedule, and this celebrity pro-am event provides charitable support to our local community.

The event features a unique tournament format, with 160 Nationwide Tour players paired with 160 celebrities/amateurs for a minimum of two days.  Each Nationwide Tour Professional is paired with a celebrity or amateur partner for the first two rounds of Tournament play on Thursday and Friday. Ten pro-celebrity/amateur teams then compete on Saturday and Sunday for the Pro-Celebrity/Amateur title, as part of the regular Nationwide Tournament Professional Tour Event. The 160 Nationwide Tour Professionals vie for one of the Tour’s largest purses, $800,099 (U.S) over 72 holes of stroke-play competition, and all four rounds will be televised on the Golf Channel.

To facilitate this very special tournament format, two courses are required for practice Monday to Wednesday and then tournament play for the first two rounds of competition on Thursday and Friday during Tournament Week. Along with The Georgian Bay Club, The Raven Golf Club at Lora Bay co-host practice rounds Monday to Wednesday and the first two rounds of play on Thursday and Friday with us. Play on Saturday and Sunday for Championship Weekend is at The Georgian Bay Club only.
