ALL AGES EVENT


Future Links Junior Skills Challenge - June 14th, 2020 

The Academy at The Georgian Bay Club will be hosting a Future Links Junior Skills Challenge local qualifier. The objective of this program is to develop key golf skills, while serving as an important introduction to competition. Participants will be divided into their age categories and will be measured on four fundamental golf skills: driving, iron play, chipping and putting. The results from each category will be posted to an online National Leaderboard and the top qualifies may have the opportunity to compete at the Provincial Qualifier and then the National Event.

AGES 3-5


Active Start 

This exciting and educational program has been designed to introduce young children to the basic movement skills required in sport and golf. and to help build overall motor skills. Basic key concepts will be introduced including grip, stance, balance and swing in a safe and fun environment.

AGES 6-12

 

GBC Junior League

This program is a community based developmental golf program and runs in conjunction with our Girls’ Club. This program offers young athletes an introduction to the world of golf in a fun and friendly team environment. Designed for young athletes new to the game of golf, or starting to play more often, this program provides coaching and learning on the golf course and includes all facets of the game.

Girls' Club

This community based developmental program runs in conjunction with our GBC Junior League. Designed for girls 6 to 12 years of age, participants will develop the skills, attitudes, and positive image to encourage both self esteem and a life long love for the game of golf. Female volunteers aged 14 and up are welcome.

3-Step Progression

This program provides specific feedback to beginner students and has been designed to teach the importance of goal setting, planning, and how this will help one measure their results. A flexible program that runs Monday afternoons, participants will be training around the greens and on-course from either 50, 75, or 100 yards. Essentially, once a participant has accomplished a bogey or better on a hole, they graduate to a longer set of tees.

CN Future Links Half Day Camps ~ Ages 6 to 9

These fun filled, active 5 half day junior camps focus on providing a safe and enjoyable introduction to the basic fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and history of the game. Each participant is exposed to physical, mental, technical, and tactical exercises designed to increase their athletic and golf skills.

AGES 13-18

 

Active For Life & Developing Competitor

These programs offer a flexible schedule and learning opportunity that is specific to each junior athlete. Whether a junior athlete wants to develop their game to the highest level or is just starting their golfing journey, it is important they all have the following: a golf environment to make friends and have fun, an opportunity to learn about their game (including technique, tactics, and mental aptitude on the golf course) and a relationship with a Coach who will support them along their way.

Advanced Full Day Junior Camps

This 3 to 5 day golf experience is designed for beginner and intermediate students looking to advance their game to the next level. The camp focuses on the importance of goal setting and earning incentives for achieving personal benchmarks. Each student will receive a comprehensive plan for success and personal instruction from our PGA Professional Staff to develop their personal plan further.
